Performing February 18th Groovin' Easy

Groovin' Easy Band
Even though Sam Arouesty is no longer with us, we continue with the tradition of the great big band sounds of Groovin’ Easy.  We are based out of Leisure Village retirement community in Camarillo and sponsored by the LV Musician’s Club.  We have been fortunate enough to maintain and recruit the best musician’s in Los Angeles and Ventura County. Many of us play in other swing bands and we collectively use our experiences to recreate and perform the swing music favorites you have come to expect from a feature band.  We are pleased to be back and play for you again and look forward to entertaining you this Sunday afternoon with our music.

Our Mission Statement

The Goal of the CCJC (Channel Cities Jazz Club) is to “Keep Jazz Alive” with a non-profit corporation dedicated to preserve and nourish the roots of Jazz and Big Band Music. In that effort each year we sponsor one to three young musicians from local high schools or middle schools that are interested in playing jazz to attend a full week at the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Camp. The young musicians are chosen from established criteria. The applicants fill out an application stating their ability, interest, grades and of course the parent(s) approval. A real treat is when a local high school or middle school jazz band is invited to play on the Sunday afternoon dance during the jam session. We have some awesome young musicians in this area.
