The Aristicats
The Aristicats Jazz Band Formed by the band's leader, Lorrell "Coop" Cooper, in 2004, this is an excellent quintet made up of some of the better musicians in the area. They play a wide variety of music from the 1920s to the 1980s however, they mostly play jazz and contemporary standards from the great American songbook. They fit their music for the venue and audience they are playing for, from clubs and dances to shows.

Members are Lorrell "Coop" Cooper on bass trumpet, trombone, and vocals, Sam Glenn on sax, clarinet, and flute, Bob Selvin on piano and vocals, Fred Johnson on bass and Don Hooker on drums. Together they comprise over 130 years of professional experience.

Big band credits for the band members include playing with the Tommy Dorsey ghost band, Les Elgart, Les Brown, Page Cavanaugh, and Bill Elliot, as well as local big bands such as the Alumni, Joe Vento, Harry Selvin, and the Unforgettables. They have all played with numerous small bands in Los Angeles and across the country. Individually they have played most of the top venues in the LA area and have supported some of the top entertainers in studio recordings, movies, television, and theatre.
